Philadelphia International

I took the shuttle bus service to the C / D Terminal, were United Express flights arrive and depart at Philadelphia. The gate agent was busy rebooking some passengers on a later Air Canada flight as they missed their connection because their incoming flight was late. After she had done this, she did some paperwork. As it seems she was ready I addressed her and asked about my luggage and the problem it was only checked to IAD. She noticed at once, I never would make the connection, as I had to head to the main terminal, where all belts are located and then return to the G gates. She did not understand, why I got this information, but admitted that this is a problem not unfamiliar to her, as it happened every now and then. She tried to locate my luggage but failed. I was told US Airways had not brought the luggage from E to Gate D 5. She told luggage staff to get my luggage to this plane. Until I boarded my luggage was still not there. She even came down in the plane to inform me that my checked luggage had yet not brought over by US Airways.

PHL – IAD
[Philadelphia – Washington Dulles]
UA 7144, Embraer
10.22 – 11.27 [10.22 – 11.25]
Economy Class
Seat 02 C

Hand luggage was collected at the door to the plane, as the overhead bins in this Embraer are small. A flight attendant greeted me entering the plane. We waited at Gate for a few minutes, because not all pieces of luggage were loaded into the plane. The captain told us, some bags had to be loaded from connecting flights; I hoped that my bag was with these bags; if you know you luggage had not made it, it is a really awful feeling. I hate it, if things happen and I could not do anything against it.

The plane was nearly full (load 90%) in this single class configured, 2 – 2 seat plane; again the seat beside me was taken by another passenger. There were as far as I remember two flight attendants, but as I did not make me notices about this, I am not sure.

Safety announcement was done by the flight attendants while we were pushed back right in time. We were airborne round about ten minutes later. Again the plane was not cleaned; a used cup was in the seat pocket in front of me. The cabin looked not as bad as on the previous flights, though several scratches at the seat and stains in the carpet and on the cabin wall. The inflight magazine was in bad condition, someone hat put a chewing gum in the magazine, awful ….
Once airborne there was some sort of beverage service, but only water was available. The flight was a little bit bumpy and the fasten-seat belts signs remained on the whole flight.
Again flight time was short and we landed at Dulles at 11.15 and had one of the Gates a Terminal G.
