Düsseldorf International

A friend had offered to bring me and my colleague to the airport, so I canceled the rental car I had originally booked for this purpose. We picked up my colleague and drove to the airport, where we arrived around noon, so quite early for our 14:40 flight to FRA.
We checked it at the First Class / Star Gold Check in. Our luggage was tagged with the Priority Sticker and Security was not very busy and we were through security quite fast. We headed straight for the SEN lounge. The agent working there had a little bit of the dragon attitude, since she did not reply to my greetings but demanded the Senator Card.

The Senator Lounge was not very busy at this time of the day and we took a seat in the rear part. I got us a coffee and cappuccino and I read a bit in the FAZ and had a light lunch while my colleague decided to continue to read in her book. Time passed quickly and as boarding time had come we headed for the gate, although the lights at the information board were not indicating that the boarding had already started.
After some minutes waiting time, we were allowed to board the plane.

The self boarding machines were not in use and so we had to queue, but there were only a few passengers ahead of us and therefore we were soon on our way to the plane.
I was greeted while entering the cabin and headed to my window seat in the first row after I hat stored my carry on in the overhead compartment. The flight attendant offered to hang my jacked in the wardrobe. The plane was nearly full and many if not the most passengers seems to connect to a long distance flights.

We pushed back at 14:34 slightly ahead of schedule and taxied for the runway. There was only one plane in front of us, the Emirates 777 bound for Dubai, and we wheels were up around 14:45 for the short flight to Frankfurt.

As usual in Business Class the middle seat remained empty. Sitting in the first row meant we had a good impression of the working flight attendants in the galley. My colleague and me chatted during the flight about our flights and travel plans in the near future. She had plans for a trip to Dubai together with her boy friend, while I had nothing planed yet.

The crew did a quick service in the Business Class Cabin. We both skipped the food offerings, which were two small slices of an apple tart or something similar, but asked for a glass of water and I for a cup of coffee in addition to the water. Due to the turbulences, the cup was only filled half and I got a refill as the flight attendant returned. Service was quick and the trays were collected as we had already began our approach into Frankfurt.

As usual there was not service done in Economy. We touched down at Frankfurt at 15:19 and had like many times before, a bus gate, where we arrived at 15:23.

It seems the most people from Business Class were in the first bus and soon we were on our way to the main terminal. We followed the signs for concourse C and were on our long way to the Senator Lounge in the C concourse.
