Express by Holdiay-Inn Frankfurt Airport

In fact the hotel is not situated in Frankfurt but in Mörfelden, a 15 - 20 minutes drive in the shuttle bus.

The hotel itself is a quite new (opening 2002) and has small and functional rooms, a little bit like the IBIS Hotels but on a little bit higher level, I think it a three star hotel, I did not saw any ranking outside.

The staff was very friendly and check-in took less than a minute. The hotel is built like an ā€œLā€ and has four floors with non smoking room on the ground floor and the first and second floor while the third and fourth floor are smoking rooms.

There is no real restaurant in the hotel, but you can have some food in the bar area beside the reception. I had a glass of an open white wine and a mushroom soup, nothing to report about, but with 5.80 EUR very cheap. I ordered a wake up call for 5.20 in the morning, because I wanted to get the first shuttle bus at 6.00, and called it myself a night at 22.30.

You can order the shuttle bus only the day before you need it, but you could request the hotel to book it before you arrive if you arrive late and need an early one like me.

All in all, I could recommend the hotel if you need a cheap airport hotel and do not need to go to Frankfurt city centre. There is also an IBIS Airport hotel available, but sometimes the room rates are a little bit higher than the Holiday-Inn Express room rates. I had chosen the Holiday-Inn Express, because I need a hotel to get nights for the 3000 point promotion.

I had a room facing to the parking lot, not a nice view, but as I arrived in the dark and leave in the dark this was nothing to worry about. The telephone has a data port and there was a small working desk and a couch, which I think could be used as a bed. Tea and coffee facilities were available, but of cheaper quality. You could easy burn your hand by filling hot water in a cup.

The bathroom is normal; it had a shower cabin with a curtain and a toilette. The sunk was in the corner, and the place beside of it somehow small.

The hairdryer was placed in the room, which I dislike.
