Diary

After 2 ½ hours of sleep I took a hot shower and head to Orchard Road for some “shop looking” and a walk through the botanical garden. I also headed to the Raffles Hotel passing a note for fellow flyertalker Iluv2fly who stayed in the Raffles on business and then head to Chinatown.

The rest of the evening I spend at the pool (or in the pool as it began to rain) and called it a night at 10 p.m.

The next day I headed for a short visit on Sentosa Island (okay, there are nicer places in Singapore but I wasn’t there yet and I could reach it just in a 15 minutes form Newton by MRT. Also it must be very nice, lying at the beach with a view on palms, sand, the sea – and some nice big cargoships).

Later, I had an excellent lunch buffet with a fellow flyertalker iluv2fly in the Raffles Grill. It was nice to meet him and I enjoyed the conversation with him very much. He also was so kind to show me his suite (named after the English novelist William Sommerset Maugham) which was quite nice, a very comfortable and nice decorated room, colonial styled with modern equipment and a dream of a bath.

After a visit in the Asian Civilisations Museum at Empress Place (it is worth a visit) I head back to the hotel and get another hour in the pool area.

I left the hotel the next morning as I had a midday flight to Kuala Lumpur. The MRT ride took me to the airport in app. 50 minutes.
