San Diego Lindbergh Field International

I took the shuttle from the Holiday-Inn to the airport. Both check-in desks for First Class were busy, as I entered the terminal. In the moment as I approached a check in counters, one passenger left and so it was my turn. Check-In was fast and I got all boarding passes till Hong Kong. Security was also fast, though one had to put off shoes and belt and also to put the laptop in a basket for x-raying it.

After a second manually screening by one of the male members of security staff I took my belongings and headed upstairs where I entered the Red Carpet Club. Though cathaana would have invited me, I used this time my Priority Pass. The Red Carpet Club is one of the smaller one with some pretzels, nuts, etc available and soft drinks, water, coffee and tea. A screen is showing CNN. I took a seat and together with cathaana waiting for boarding time.

First Class
Seat 01 B

Boarding started again with First Class passengers together with Star Gold and Star Silver. We boarded and were greeted while entering the plane. This plane also seems to be full and as far as I noticed correctly at least one passenger got an operational upgrade to First Class.

We took our seats, again 1 A and 1 B while other passengers boarded the plane. Overhead bins were occupied quite fast for the eight First Class Seats and the last passengers had to look for space in the Economy Class Cabin.

This time we got a predeparture drink, orange juice or water.

It took some time till all passengers had boarded the aircraft. The captain came over the micro and gave information about flight time and informed us, that channel 9 is available. Push back was ten minutes delayed at 14.44. During push back we had to wait for another plane passing our way and.

Finally we took off at 14:55 in west direction to the Pacific Ocean and ten made a 180° left turn and headed for Denver.

The announcements by the cabin crew were barely understandable and service was chaotic. There were no nuts or pretzels served, only one beverage round was done. The flight was a bit bumpy, especially the last 35 minutes. I dozed a little bit on this flight, read a bit and listened to the music channel.

We began our descend into Denver International Airport and touched down at 17:50. We had to taxi quite a bit and were at our gate at 18:02.

We had a very tight connection and therefore hurried a little. Cathaana was the first to exit the plane while I was just following as second. Fortunately it was a nearby gate for our upcoming flight to Chicago, but boarding had not started yet, as we arrived at Gate 36, where our flight to Chicago left.
