I headed for one of the smaller TG lounge, which was overcrowded with a lot of people standing. So I decided to head back to the bigger man TG lounge, which was full, too, but I was able to snag a seat and got something to drink. Some minutes after the boarding time I decided to go back to the gate C 7, which was quite a distance to walk. As I arrived at the lounge boarding had not yet started. The waiting area was divided in a part for Economy Class Passengers on the left side and a part for Star Gold, Business and First Class passengers. The area was crowded and it took some time before they finally at 23:50 made an announcement that boarding was further delayed since they had some problems with the weather radar and need to replace it. Boarding would be delayed another twenty minutes

I was not in the mood of heading back to the lounge again.

Crew distributed water and orange juice and joked with a fellow traveller from Business Class that it will take a bit longer, if they are began to distribute water for the waiting passengers. And so it was, finally at 01:00 boarding was announced for Business and First Class passengers as well as families and Star Gold. Standing near the jetway I was among the first passengers to board the plane

I took my seat again and stored my belongings. After several minutes a couple arrived and asked me to change my seat with him, so he could sit together with his wife. He had 1 K so I accepted this offer and I took my stuff and moved to my new seat. I was happy to get another glass of champagne as pre-departure drink after I moved to my new seat.

1 K is not a bad seat, there is nobody in front of you, but it is a bit more difficult to get up, while you seat neighbour has put the seat into sleeping position.

We pushed back at 01:25 and were airborne ten minutes later.

After half an hour flight time an aperitif was offered together with a packed of assorted nuts. I stayed with Campari Orange, like on my previous flight. Half an hour later the tables were laid with linen and meal service started.

The menu of this flight

The first course was served together with the tray, while the other course were brought individual for the passengers who were ready. As far as I noticed they did quite a few rounds, looking which passenger had finished the previous course. But it was not an individual service of each course as one can experience on some Asian airlines. If I remember my last flight with LH in Business Class from Hong Kong to Frankfurt back in 2004, each course was served individual and not placed on a tray. It was individual placed on a plate.

Nevertheless the Thai style chicken curry was not bad, though the food could have been a bit warmer. But it was tasty while not as spicy as expected. I had again a glass of Chardonnay with the meal. The crew was not very attentive; I had to wait for refills. One flight attendant noticed the empty glass but she came back after ten minutes on her usual round to refill it. Probably a result of an overbooked flight, which was full in all three classes.

After the trays were collected I decided to call it a night and try to get some hours of sleep. Since the cabin was warm, it was bit difficult to sleep. But I finally managed to get four hours of light sleep before I decided to skip through the video and audio selection. I listened to music and read a bit. The reading lamp at the seat was nice to have, since the cabin was still dark and I did not want to disturb the other passengers more than necessary.

App. 90 minutes prior to landing the lights were switched on and a bit later one could smell coffee in the cabin – time for breakfast.

Tthe last meal of this flight

75 minutes prior to landing the tables were laid with linen and some minutes later we could choose between a cold and a warm breakfast. I took the Omelette, which was disappointed. It was very try and had not taste at all. The chicken was also dry while the broccoli was very hard. I skipped half of it and had some more croissants together with some coffee – French style breakfast.

Tables were cleared and the captain came over the microphone to tell us he was not able to safe some time, because we had some strong headwinds. So we were still an hour delayed. That would mean some passengers would not make their connection, but there was someone waiting at the gate and the most if not all passengers got rebooked on later flights.

We touched down at 07:00 and reached our gate at the B Concourse ten minutes later.
