Frankfurt Rhein-Main

I turned right after I had left the jetbridge and stepped into the terminal heading for immigration and the security check in front of the First Class / HON Circle Lounge and the stairs down to the Schengen Gates and the FTL / SEN Lounge. There was only one passengers in front of me, but both lines were open so I was through immigration and security in seconds. I entered the SEN Lounge at 05.43 and the showers were available. I was the first person at this morning taking a shower and I was happy, since this means I could change in my business outfit and take a shower in FRA there instead of using the shower of the DUS SEN lounge saving me at least 30 minutes in DUS.

I have written it frequently a hot and hot/cold shower in the morning is the best things of being SEN.

After I have shaved, showered and dressed I used the SEN Lounge and decided to have a glass of Champagne for breakfast.

At 06:20 I headed for the gate A 26 where my flight to DUS would depart. Boarding was announced to start at 06:15 but as usual it had not started yet.

Finally at 06:25 boarding started and I was among the first passengers to board the plane.

01 April 2008
FRA - DUS
[Frankfurt - Düsseldorf]
LH 800 (Lufthansa); Airbus A 319-100 (D-AILR / 'Tegernsee')
Gate A 26
06:50 – 07:35 [effective 06:50 – 07:37]
Economy Class
Seat 14 D

I stored my belongings in the overhead bin and took my seat and skipped through the new inflight magazine while fellow passengers boarded the plane, which was not full and so both seats on my side of the row remained empty. Of course I converted the seat into a Business Class Seat – and once again got strange views by one flight attendant while the other one asked if this had been this way or if I had converted it. I told them I had converted it to store my PDA and mobile during the flight. She seems okay with it after I told her I of course would convert the seat back after our arrival in DUS.

We were pushed back at 06:50 and headed for our runway, where we took off for our short 25 minutes flight to DUS. As usual no service back in the bus. The flight was uneventful. It was very lovely weather and we had clear sky. I dozed a bit and soon we began our final approach into DUS where we touched down at 07:35 and reached our gate two minutes later.

I grabbed my belongings and hurried a bit to catch my bus to my office, but I was two minutes too late. Not a problem the next bus was coming in another seven minutes and this was even the better connection since I only had to change from the bus to the subway.

I entered my office at 08:12 – where a cup of hot and strong coffee awaited me.

I love my colleagues for this service …
