San Diego Lindberg Field

The shuttle dropped me at the commuter terminal app. 55 minutes before scheduled departure time. I was checked in a breeze. Security was very fast, too. Luckily this time no secondary screening for me.

I took a seat and worked a bit on my trip report.

Check In agent cleared the waitlist for standby passengers, who were booked on later flights. Boarding started at 15:55 and we were brought to the plane, where our trolleys were collected. We boarded this small plane over the stairs.

13 February 2008
SAN – LAX
[San Diego – Los Angeles]
UA 5417 (United Express), Embraer 120 (N229SW)
Gate 4
16:16 – 17:01 [effective 16:15 – 16:55]
Economy Class
Seat 04 A

The flight was completely booked. The only flight attendant made the safety demonstration. It is amazing when he first explains what to do and then afterwards shows it with the seat belt and the oxygen masks. He must see us passengers and nobody pays attention to this demonstration.

We left the parking position at 16:15 and rolled to the runway. We left SAN at 16:18 and climbed into the cloudy sky. The flight was uneventful. Due to the clouds one could nothing see of the coast or the Pacific Ocean. Having seat 4A meant on this flight heading north I had also no view to the mountains. There every now and then, a snow covered peak was visible as I noticed seeing through the window at the other side of the aisle.

There was of course no beverage service on this short 35 minutes hop to LAX.

Soon we began our final approach into LAX. This part became a bit bumpy as we reached the clouds. We touched down ahead of schedule at 16:50 and reached our gate at 16:55 in terminal 8.

While we waited in the plane the flight attendant makes some marks about this flight, esp. to the persons shown on the safety card and the plane itself. As our trolleys arrived, we left the plane and I headed for the exit.
