San Francisco International

The airport shuttle dropped me off at the airport at 06:25 in the morning. I headed for the United check in counters, was once again unable to use the self service facilities and therefore had to queue at the lines for the passengers with paper tickets. There were not that long, but one of the two agents on duty left ignoring the queuing customers and her colleague being busy for quite a while. So I had to wait before it was finally my turn. It took some time to sort the agent the different flight out and then there was an issue due to the several changes of this ticket. She hat to call the back office and also got the help off two colleagues to sort this off. This took some time. Finally after 15 minutes, everything was sorted out and the boarding passes for this day were printed.
Security lines were long but they were extremely quick and therefore I was through security without further check in less than ten minutes and could enter the Red Carpet Club at 07:00.
I took a cup of coffee and some pastries as quick breakfast and headed for the gate around 07:25.

Boarding had not yet started but was scheduled to start two minutes later.

This time it was United First and 1K who could enter first and after them in Zone 1 Star Gold and Star Silver members together with the passengers in the back of the plane.

I had a seat in the back of the plane. The middle seat was taken by a flight attendant, who was off duty and flying home. The flight was nearly completely full. We pushed back nearly in time at 08:00 and taxied for the runway.

The Safety demonstration was done by showing the video on the screens in the cabin during push back. We taxied to the runway and were airborne ten minutes later.

A beverage service was done during the flight app. 30 minutes after take off and the flight attendant came twice through the cabin offering water.

Channel 9 was available, but I did not listen to it, because I chatted with my seat neighbour, who was a flight attendant as written above, about many topics. My last trips, her usual flying destination, New Zealand and Australia, Norway, Portugal, practiced our French and getting some terms in German translated. It was really very nice chatting with her and therefore a very short flight time. I enjoyed the conversation a lot.

The flight itself was really bumpy for some minutes but nothing really to worry about, though even one of the flight attendants had some problems to walk through the cabin to sea if everybody was buckled up.

Flight time passed way too quickly and we soon began our final approach into Denver where we touched down ahead of schedule at 11:15 but had to wait for our gate to become available and arrived at our gat at 11:25 local time. There was no announcement about the time change. As you sometimes get a time announcement even if there is no time difference I really appreciate to have one if there is one. Oh well … Anyway the crew on this flight was not that bad, they smiled and the two beverage round were really nice to see on this 2:30 h flight.

It took some time before everybody in the 21 rows in front of me had left and after a “Good Bye” to my seat neighbour I was off on the way to the Red Carpet Club East at Denver International Airport.
